The Creative Muse | Eileen Rafferty
In this inspirational lecture, Eileen Rafferty discusses the importance and significance of the muse in the creative process. We'll take a look at several historical artist-muse pairs throughout art history to examine the influences the muse played on the artist, and how this influence manifested in the visual work.
There are many familiar historical artist-muse relationships: Steiglitz/O’Keefe, Wyeth/Helga, Callahan/Eleanor. Eileen also shares her own experience with a muse in her art work, having been inspired by a Japanese writer for over fifteen years.
