How to Create an Old Cracked Photo in Photoshop

Use Adobe Photoshop to age your photo by adding cracked, and great Adjustment Layers! Who needs Instagram? Make sure to check out my other Photoshop tutorials for more on text effects, photo editing, photo retouching, and more! Links below!

Tools used in this tutorial:

Adjustment Layers: By using an Adjustment Layers, you’re able to change targeted areas of your photo without damaging the original layer. These can either be applied to the full image, or specific areas using selections or Layer Masks. At any point in the future, you can either make changes to the adjustment, hide it, or delete it completely.

Blend If: The Blend If sliders, located within your Blending Options, allows you to gradually blend out shadows or highlights, from the greys, reds, blues, or greens on the selected layer or of the layer below it.

Layer Styles: If you’re looking to add effects to your layers, you’ll likely want to use Layer Styles. Whether it’s an outer glow, a few shadows, or a bevel to give it depth, the possibilities are endless!
