It looks like the rumors were right, Nikon just announced a NEW 50mm F/1.8g lens. This lens replaces a very popular AFD lens that was a must have for the past 10 years.
The new lens with the silent wave motors means that it will work on all Nikon Dslrs. At a projected price of $219 this is a great starter lens for anyone looking to shoot portraits or who want to start with a prime lens. It really is a toss up at this point weather to go with the 35 1.8 or the 50 1.8. You can not go wrong with either.
