How to Remix | Background Vocals (Audio 101: Part 15)

For this episode of Audio 101, I focus on remixing background vocals. This covers several different areas of audio processing, from subtle noise removal and correction, to cleaning up unwanted noises/background sounds, to understanding pitch in the spectral display, and working with EQ to emphasize key frequencies on different parts of a layered/stacked or doubled harmony vocal (there are six vocal parts showcased here). You'll also get to hear how working with stereo and/or mono stacked voices creates a totally different 'feel' in your music.

I spend quite some time in the Spectral Frequency Display (Audio 101, Episode 3) and will show you how to identify the good fundamentals of a vocal/harmony, and when it's okay to eliminate or attenuate the unwanted ones. Good stuff in frequently encountered situations.
