How to Mix 5.1 Surround with Premiere Pro & Audition CC (AUDIO 101: Part 12)

In Part 12 of this multi-part series, I'll walk you thru the initial setups for creating surround sessions in both Premiere Pro CC *and* Audition CC. There are several key preferences that often go unnoticed that can vastly improve your experience of working with surround audio (particularly in Premiere Pro) and I cover these here.

Among some of the things you'll learn:

1) how to create a surround sequence (and setting track configurations properly; as well as the difference between '5.1' and multichannel in Premiere Pro CC;

2) Starting an automated mix, 'Linear Keyframe Thinning' and optimizing your workflow when automating the surround panner;

3) Multichannel metering in PPRO and AU;

4) Sending 5.1 from Premiere Pro to Audition (and maintaining a 5.1 master fader)

5) Exporting to Dolby Digital Plus (ec3) and legacy Dolby formats (ac3)
