Michael Rothschild is a pediatric otolaryngolgist in New York City and avid scuba diver. He serves as a medical moderator for scubaboard.com and is on the executive board of the NYC Sea Gypsies. He is also an award-winning and published underwater photographer and videographer who lectures frequently on these topics. While he certainly enjoys the warm, clear waters of the tropics, his passion for the underwater world has led him to explore and document the vibrant and diverse ecosystem right in our backyard, off the shores of New Jersey and Long Island. By bringing images of this world back to his non-diving friends and family, he is able to share his love for the marine environment with many who will never be able to see if firsthand.
In this presentation Mike focuses on the history and basic principles of underwater video. He discusses the current generation of equipment for video capture, as well as using both point & shoot and DSLR cameras for video capture underwater. Also covered: underwater housings, lighting, filters, and options for post-processing.
