He discusses how every activity in life is being infiltrated by digital interactions made possible by ubiquitous mobile devices, Web applications, and cloud computing. This is forcing industry after industry to confront the technology adoption life cycle yet once again. We are poised between an era of old IT and new IT, directing it away from data and records and pointing it squarely at the user experience itself. Electronic signatures are a perfect example of inertia impeding the implementation of a solution with significant business benefits. We look at it from the IT perspective, but also from the lines of business with high contract volumes that would benefit from implementing e-signatures the most -- sales and sales operations, HR and finance.
