Creating Light - Even If There's None | Hernan Rodriguez
Brought to you Westscott
You often hear the old adage, “It’s All In The Lighting”. The reality is, it is in the lighting along with many other factors that will make you an excellent photographer. At the very least, it will prepare you to photograph portraits under any lighting condition. We will learn to analyze both our subjects and surroundings, and review what principles best apply in creating the optimum light quality for our subjects. Whether you have minimal experience and are comfortable with shooting only natural light, or are eager to learn advanced studio flash, the laws of physics in light are constant, absolute, and predictable. Our goal is to review these principles, and apply them “In-Studio”, by the use of flash and continuous lighting.
This video has demonstrations on these lighting principles and also covered, will be the different qualities of light, including soft light, hard light, diffused light and subtractive light, which are instrumental in creating portraits specific to your subject’s needs.
In our lighting demonstration we review portrait lighting patterns and controlling our ratios with the use of one and two Solix LED lights. We then will recreate a similar look by quickly switching to using one and two speedlites with the Rapid Box Switch.
This is a must for anyone who is interested in lighting people. This class will give you a better understanding and a simple approach to lighting for any occasion.
