Angry Photographer: Sigma Art f1.4 50mm. Five levels below 'stinks' & what is an "ART" lens?
Why does this lens (sigma art 50mm f/1.4 dg hsm) stink?
1. There is no such nonsense as an "ART LENS" this is hype and nonsense
2. 13 elements
3. Very bad vignetting up to F4
4. poor color saturation
5. VERY inconsistent manufacture from lens to lens
6. bad CA and purple fringing
7. Very low contrast
8. serious AF ‘seeking’ issues
9. design flaw in aperture assy.
10. Twice the price as the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 G
11. Twice the size of the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 G or AIS 50mm 1.4
12. 8X the price of a Nikkor 50mm AIS 1.4 !!!
13. Bad bokeh (others report this as well)
14. VERY POOR OVERALL CONSTRUCTION
15. bad distortion up to F4
This lens is PURE HYPE, it has absolutely NOT A SINGLE REDEEMING QUALITY
