Angry Photographer: Hardcore logic & reasons why DXOMark is both wrong & not to be trusted

DXOMark has a very strong motive and agenda, which is the sales of its software. Nobody with such motives and agendas can or should be trusted.

The entire premise of DXOMark is a logical fallacy of argumentum ad ignorantiam (an appeal to ignorance). Since DXOMark keeps and admits its testing methods and quanta are SECRET, its supporters like to tell those skeptical of DXOMark “prove they’re wrong”. There are two people on youtube famous for this reply. To which you must state that DXOMark testing quanta and algorithm’s are secret, therefore proving a negative is impossible and a logical fallacy. This very same position is no different than any who profess Angels are real, and ask you to “prove they don’t exist”. This is a fallacy since proving a negative is a logical fallacy.

The DXOMark ISO TESTING is a benchmark of their own creation as set to a certain noise threshold of dynamic range and color. RAW ISO data scoring ignoring Jpeg noise, SNR, and video ISO performances.

DXOMark scores the flagship Canon 1DX ($6800) with a rating of 83. Whereas the entry level Nikon D3300 ($500) scores a 82 !!! This is absolutely 100% INSANE & IMPOSSIBLE. There are also 14 other Nikon cameras that score higher than Canon’s flagship 1DX

DXOMark does NOT provide any photographic data or examples, or empirical PROOF OF ANY KIND AT ANY TIME OF ANY VARIETY to substantiate its claims. Of those people who support DXOMark’s absurd conclusion and protest “prove it (that DXOMark is wrong)”…, remind them of the fact that those who make the claim MUST FIRST PRESENT THE EVIDENCE, not the person or persons who protest and contest the CLAIM of the former. This is a fallacy!

DXOMarks Test Scores CANNOT BE independently verified without using THEIR products to do so, which is a logical fallacy of two parts. This insane fallacy is common among religious circles, and was used against Martin Luther who was forced to use Catholic dogmatic doctrine to disprove Catholic dogma. Secondly, this means that objective verification using empirical evidences to disprove DXOMark is impossible, thereby leaving them in firm “control of their own facts”. This is a convoluted highly illogical fallacy that no intelligent person can enjoin!

The biggest LIE of DXOMark is its ENTIRELY NON-EXISTANT CREATION, the “perceptual megapixel” of which it states: "P-Mpix is the unit of a sharpness measurement. The number of P-Mpix of a camera/lens combination is equal to the pixel count of a sensor that would give the same sharpness if tested with a perfect theoretical optics, as the camera/lens combination under test”. The “perceptual megapixel" is not a measurement. It is an "overall score" itself, wholly created by DXOMark and has absolutely no existence, and no basis in reality other than as a figment without the logarithms of its own software that it promotes that you purchase; and thus subject to the same failings as any other such metric.

The very TOPMOST rated lenses by hardcore professional shooters do not stand out at all within the phantasms and ratings as posted by DXOMark. One must INTELLIGENTLY ask themselves if the collective mass of professional photographers who must feed themselves and their family are wrong, or if the hidden agenda and motives of DXOMark are in fact the incorrect one. DXOMark does NOT provide any photographic data or examples, or empirical PROOF OF ANY KIND AT ANY TIME OF ANY VARIETY to substantiate its claims, also DXOMarks Test Scores CANNOT BE independently verified without using THEIR products to do so.

DXOMark at no time and never has done a conventional nor traditional real-world review of any lens or any camera ever made.

All those who support DXOMark, their faith in same is entirely misplaced and only fools amateur minds who are superficially amazed at the seeming sea of false data quanta they provide. However as is the case, they have a very strong motive agenda, and product to sell. Ultimately DXOMark has never done a single review of any lens or camera. The site misleads novice minds who can and do take its advice that the very best lenses are not well rated, and many horrible lenses receive high marks. Likewise the case with camera bodies. This is far worse than misleading to those shopping for a new camera or lens.
